Opening Reception, Key West Poet Readings, & Robert Frost Goes to the Movies

The Key West Heritage House hosts: Wanted: Poets Dead or Alive. A light fare reception to meet our guest poets that are giving workshops throughout the week, then Listen to local Key West  actors read some of Key West’s most Famous poetry by Robert Frost, Wallace Stevens, Elizabeth Bishop, Danne Hughes, Bev Horlack, John Malcolm Brinnin, as well as resident poets, Kirby Congdon, Steven Wiley, E. J. Miller, Rosalind Brackenbury, Sheri Lohr,  and the Robert Frost Poetry Festival presenting guest poets.

Poetry Slam

8 PM - 10 PM

Sippin Coffee House presents a Poetry Slam. Cash prize for the winner. Three rounds are held during the slam at Sippin so participants will need three poems for performance. The recitation and performance of original poetry are judged according to the content of the writing and the strength of the performance; the scores determine who will advance to the next round.  Each entry can be no longer than three minutes.
